Guam - The 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit from Okinawa is conducting urban realistic training this week on Guam. U.S. Marine Corps Master Sergeant Steven Sarten says the training must be conducted in an unfamiliar urban environment, which is why they selected Guam as training site. The training is three days and he says it's important, as the unit is the Marine Corps' force and readiness for the Asia Pacific region.

He said, "What we have in this scenario is there have been some illegal arms shipments and they've been staged out of a location here and we've got the MEU, a small team of highly trained marines that will come in and take out that weapons shipment and ensure that our doesn't get spread out throughout the region."

The location of the exercise is not being release for safety reasons, and the public is asked not to be alarmed if they see the event as it is only an exercise.
