FSM community working to curb violence
Guam - This past weekend's triple homicide has Federated States of Micronesia consul general Gerson Jackson working with the Chuukese community not only during their time of mourning, but also to improve relations moving forward. "It is unfortunate, it is sad because we are here to make sure that everything is OK and this kind of incident is not helping us at all in trying to relate even among ourselves, the FSM citizens," he shared.
"We have consulted with some of the leaders in the Chuukese community to see how we can help mitigate the problem to make sure nothing happens again in as far as fighting and people stabbing."
Three people were killed as a result of gang related activities - Rex Nanoto, Alferson Muritok and Michael Pucholong. A fourth victim remains in very critical condition at the hospital. A total of six people were arrested, two of which were minors.
