Guam - A man in his 60's facing first degree criminal sexual conduct charges could be released from prison, as the judge handling the case feels the criminal justice system has not treated him fairly. Juan Camacho Meno was arrested in 2009 after a police investigation revealed he allegedly sexually assaulted an 11-year-old girl back in 2006.

Meno has been behind bars for the past two and half years, and today Judge Elizabeth Barrett Anderson questioned why the case has not yet been resolved. Since his incarceration, Meno has been back and forth between Mental Health and the hospital after suffering a stroke and heart attack.

The judge ordered the government to resolve the case soon, and has tasked Adult Protective Services to interview Meno before a final decision is made. A criminal trial setting will be held on September 27.
