DPW struggling to make ends meet
Guam - Department of Public Works Deputy Director Carl Dominguez spoke with the Rotary Club of Northern Guam today on the status of road projects islandwide. Dominguez says that despite the $18.4 million provided by federal highway funding and additional funds from the Department of Defense, DPW is struggling to make ends meet.
"Only routed roads get federal funding, secondary roads village roads do not get federal funding - they rely on Government of Guam funding. And for DPW, we have hardly any money to even repair potholes. That's how difficult the situation is at DPW now," he said.
Dominguez asks drivers to be patient with ongoing roadwork as well as to drive carefully around work sites. For complete information on all ongoing and upcoming DPW projects, visit GuamTransportationProgram.com.
