GPA gets OK for renewable energy bids
Guam - The Consolidated Commission on Utilities has authorized the Guam Power Authority to move forward on two bids for its renewable energy proposal. Quantum Guam Power was awarded 20 megawatts to cover solar energy, whereas Pacific Green Resources was awarded 10 megawatts for wind energy.
The first phase for the renewable energy procurement is for the first 40 megawatts of a total of 80 megawatts of renewable energy. CCU chairperson Simon Sanchez says the bids must now be submitted to the Public Utilities Commission for approval.
