Guam - Discussions continue involving the Guam Ancestral Lands Commission's possible merger with the Department of Land Management and the Chamorro Land Trust Commission. GALC land agent Joey Leon Guerrero tells KUAM News that a proposal was made for CLTC administrator Monte Mafnas to be the director for the proposed merger and GALXC director David Camacho to become the deputy director.
The plan would have Mafnas managing land management and CLTC with Camacho managing GALC and provide assistance to the other agencies if needed. Leon Guerrero says the commission also discussed during their recent meeting whether it would stay at its current location in Tiyan or move in with land management at the ITC Building in Tamuning.
Discussions on the possible merger will continue at the next GALC meeting scheduled for September 14.
