Guam leaders mourn Jesse Jackson

Guam joins the nation in honoring the life and legacy of Reverend Jesse L. Jackson, Sr. — a civil rights leader, presidential candidate, and champion for unity whose voice called America to “common ground.”   

In statements issued today, both the Democratic Party of Guam and Governor Lou Leon Guerrero reflected on Reverend Jackson’s lifelong commitment to justice, inclusion, and the belief that America belongs to all its people.

From the Rainbow Coalition to his historic presidential campaigns, Jackson urged Americans to organize, to vote, and to “Keep hope alive.” His message — that democracy is strengthened by its diversity — continues to resonate, even across oceans.
