Guam - More than a dozen of the island's youth that participated in the summer activities of art academy and wood carving with I Famagu'on-ta were recognized this morning for their artworks. Local artist Filamore Alcon says this activity helps serve as a form of therapy.

He explained, "A lot of the students that we have been instructed art can use their situation when they are stressed out, sad and not happy and have some kind of distress and use art as a form of relaxation."

The program helps children with serious emotional disturbances.
