Guam - Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo announced that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric administration awarded GovGuam $567,781 in federal financial assistance. The grant will support management of coral reef projects and held study the environmental impacts of the military buildup.

It also helps fill data gaps for fishery management, increase training in climate change and reef resiliency, and support conservation action planning. Bordallo states, "Guam is home to many diverse coral reef ecosystems and it is important that we protect and preserve these critical marine habitats for future generations.

"I look forward to these funds being used to support coral reef conservation efforts on Guam."
