Guam - The ambulance shortage issue for the Guam Fire department has hit rock bottom. GFD spokesperson Captain Andy Arceo confirms as of 8pm Wednesday evening only one ambulance is up and running to service the entire island. Arceo says the lone medic is stationed at the Barrigada fire station. He adds GFD mechanics are repairing the down units, however could not say when more medics may be available.

As we reported, majority of the ambulance fleet is down for multiple problems and are awaiting parts. Meantime, the ambulance issue will also be highlighted during Thursday morning's informational briefing at the legislature at 9am before the public safety committee.
