Guam - The condition of ambulance services, fire stations and trucks, as well as other issues surrounding the Guam Fire Department will be the focus of an informational meeting this Wednesday. The Public Safety Committee wants to get a clearer picture of the department's operations and challenges as well as the status of E-911 funds and the Firefighter Reserve Program.
The briefing will be held at nine o'clock on Wednesday morning with the confirmation hearing of fire chief nominee Raymond Perez to follow that afternoon at 1:30. Public Safety Oversight Chair Senator Adolpho Palacios expressed some concerns about whether Perez actually met the qualifications for the fire chief position specifically questioning whether Perez served as the EMS operations officer at the fire department between October 1999 and September 2004.
The informational briefing and confirmation hearing will be held this Wednesday.
