Guam - Healthcare Committee Chair Senator Dennis Rodriguez, Jr. has asked Attorney General Leonardo Rapadas to clarify what happens in the event the protest of the government's health insurance contract is not resolved by the end of the fiscal year.  In a letter to the chief legal officer, the Democrat lawmaker asks what provisions within the law and/or the existing health insurance contract would provide for a carryover of healthcare coverage for GovGuam employees, their dependants and retirees.

Rodriguez has sought legal guidance from the AG's Office as to any legislative actions, if any, that would be required to ensure continuing coverage in the event the protest and a new contract are not finalized by September 30.
