Guam - The balancing act continues in Hagatna. Appearing before lawmakers this morning, representatives from the Department of Education including interim superintendent Taling Taitano. According to Taitano, DOE will need an estimated $243 million for the next fiscal year.

"One of the concerns is ensuring that we get the adequate funding to keep the schools running," she said.

Taitano says there is a $16 million difference from the Guam Education Board's estimated budget and the governor's cap. Budget hearings continue tomorrow morning with BBMR.
