Guam - The Department of Defense has until this Saturday (Guam time) to submit a brief to the Hawaii District Court if it wants additional time to file a motion to dismiss a civil suit filed against it by We Are Guahan, the Guam Preservation Trust and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Judge Leslie Kobayashi ordered the DoD to submit its motion to dismiss by July 29 after denying their motion for voluntary remand and stay.

The DoD had attempted to stall the case to allow for additional review of sites for a live fire training range that has been planned for the Route 15 Pagat area. The judge denied the request as the DoD was only willing to agree to limited public participation in the reconsideration process.
