Guam - Governor Eddie Calvo is hosting his third community forum to "Put Guam First" this weekend. The subject of Saturday's session will be war reparations.

According to Governor's Communications Director Troy Torres, the island's chief executive felt that with the Liberation Day commemoration approaching it would be the perfect time to discuss the issue. The Administration is eager to hear the community's suggestions on how the Government of Guam can move forward in convincing the federal government to make good on its six decade old promise for war reparations.

"Perhaps there are new ideas out there in the community on how we can move this forward is there a new strategy with the house is there a new strategy with the Senate or with the Obama Administration or do we go again to Department of Defense and ask them to lend their support and throw their endorsement behind this initiative, especially since over the next few years we're going to be very close partners," Torres said.

Saturday's forum is from 11am to 1 in the afternoon in the Cabinet Conference Room at Adelup.
