Guam - The grassroots group We Are Guahan is discussing another section of the Environmental Impact Statement with the Department of Defense in regards to the closure of two popular exercise trails in Dededo and Yigo. "We were concerned about this because the department of defense already owns over or close to a third of the island and they want to take back more land and this is land the community uses," explained member Cara Flores-May.

According to the EIS, the DOD plans on acquiring 700 acres of land in Dededo. Areas such as former Federal Aviation Administration property and the road to Andersen South will be fenced off and gated with no general public access allowed.
