Guam - The Port Authority of Guam is seeking a 3.95% increase in their tariffs in hopes to generate $5 million. The autonomous agency recently completed a tariff study that was conducted by a consultant. The board approved the rate charge as the tariff increase is expected to generate millions of dollars to cover the debt service for gantry cranes the port procured as well as top lifters and tractors.
The increase, however, must go be reviewed and approved first by the Public Utilities Commission before it can be implemented.
