Guam - The Department of Administration has received several responses to a request for proposal for health insurance coverage for Government of Guam employees and retirees for the coming fiscal year. Acting Department of Administration Director Benita Manglona could not disclose how many or which companies responded to Wednesday's deadline.

A preliminary review of the submissions is underway to ensure compliance with the RFP. The negotiating team will then review the proposals to rank each of the submissions beginning July 5 with the government's consultant, The Hay Group. Negotiations with the highest ranked offeror are set to begin on July 11.

Officials anticipate completing negotiations by mid-july for review by the attorney general, rev and tax and the governor by the end of next month. This year's negotiating team will also include two statutory non-voting members, Committee on Appropriations and Taxation chairman Senator Ben Pangelinan and Healthcare Committee chairman Senator Dennis Rodriguez, Jr.
