Guam - Tuesday marked Day 1 of the trial of Anthony Chargualaf Flores, who is charged with the 1999 murder of Sherri Lea Taylor. Today the government began presenting its case calling Officers Jojo Garcia and Tim Certeza and Firefighter Roderick Meno to the witness stand.

The three testified about responding to the Hamilton Hotel for an aggravated assault call and finding Taylor bloodied and beaten inside her hotel room. David Taitingfong Pocaigue, Jr. and Roman Pocaigue told authorities that Flores was responsible for beating taylor who later died. Flores was previously convicted for the Taylor's murder, but that conviction was overturned by the Guam Supreme Court.

The trial continues on Wednesday in Superior Court Judge Elizabeth Barrett Anderson's courtroom.
