He was waiving a machete violently and refusing to put it down when police responded to a disturbance in Piti on June 8. According to court documents earlier that day he was driving a van with a woman and two children inside.
Cruz is accused of driving recklessly and threatening to kill the woman. He was charged with terrorizing, family violence, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and using a deadly weapon in a felony.
