Guam - Today the University of Guam Green Army hosted the "My Green Community Day," an event featuring local farmers selling homegrown plants, produce, and products. This morning the school of business and public administration building was filled with several vendors selling everything from eggplants to peanuts.
UOG President Dr. Robert Underwood says the event is a great way to get people to eat healthy and local, saying, "We're very happy, there was a fairly good turnout of farmers and so we are trying to emphasize the issue of sustainability the more we eat that comes from the earth, Guam earth, the better and healthier we become and the reality is strengthens our economy."
The event will be held every month and aims to promote island sustainability.
