ESGR presents KUAM with Patriot Award
The award recognizes employers that go above and beyond in their support of employees serving in the military reserves.
Guam - The Employee Support of the Guard and Reserve honored KUAM with the Patriot Award. The award recognizes employers that go above and beyond in their support of employees serving in the military reserves. Nominations for this award must also come from soldiers and their families.
KUAM was nominated by the Guerrero family, of which Clarissa is a longtime account executive at KUAM while her husband is a former employee. Sergeant Jacob Guerrero enlisted in the Army National Guard in 2007. "It's a great honor Jacob be here at KUAM News Jacob sent off from school and training there's just been a lot of support from here from management and staff and we're very thankful an grateful."
The award was presented to KUAM by representatives from the National Guard as well as Clarissa and Jacob's five beautiful children: Jeremy, Megan, Isabella, Megan, Hannah, and Chloe.
KUAM general manager Joey Calvo said, "It's an honor to be honored by the National Guard and Reserves; they sacrifice a lot for keeping us safe and we really appreciate it." Assistant GM and executive producer Marie Calvo-Monge added, "We really consider them as part of our family as well; they're both, I have to say, a shining example of community service. We've seen her hold it together for her whole family and they're an inspiration to all of us."
ESGR is a program by the Department of Defense made up mostly of volunteers who inform and educate hundreds of thousands of reserve component members and their employers regarding their rights and responsibilities, best practices, and to develop and maintain relationships with employers.
