Guam – The Guam education board is extending the application process for the Department of Education superintendent position. According to a news release, the application submission deadline is now Thursday, June 30 at 5pm, rather than the original May 16 deadline. The search committee has deemed the 45-day extension necessary to maximize the opportunity for candidates to submit an application. The position is also being advertised in various states such as Washington, California and Hawaii.
Chairman of the search committee Dr. Paul Pineda states, "The search committee members collectively decided to extend the deadline to ensure that we have a large pool of candidates. Given the importance of this position to the education and welfare of our 31,000 students, the extension is warranted."
