Guam - Guam firefighters responded to a structure fire at the Hanson Permanente Cement Facility in Piti this afternoon. The facility neighbors the fuel tanks for the island's gas station companies. Engine units from the Tamuning, Piti and Agat fire stations responded to the blaze.

GFD Lieutenant Alvin Duenas says they got the call about a possible electrical fire at the facility around two this afternoon. He says they were able to secure the scene within the following hour. "When coming in you could see the side burning, so when we came here its just from the DOCOMO cable lines on the side were burning but right now its under investigation."

No injuries were reported. Fire spokesperson Captain Andy Arceo says preliminary reports show the blaze was a result of wiring that caught fire.
