Friends & family welcome soldier home
by Nick Delgado
Guam - Family, friends, and fellow servicemembers welcomed home Chief Warrant Officer Two Joseph Manglona last night. Manglona spent the past year deployed to Afghanistan. He was deployed as an individual augmentee attached to the 277th Maintenance Company with the Georgia National Guard in support of overseas contingency training, formally called the global war on terror.
He is the first soldier to return home from deployment since the death of America's most wanted terrorist, Osama bin Laden. The Guam National Guard still has one soldier deployed to Afghanistan and another in Kosovo, along with eleven airmen who are serving in the Middle East.
