'Passport to Services' for island homeless
With the island estimated homeless population of some 1,500 people, the 4th Annual Homeless Awareness Outreach event was held today.
Guam - With the island estimated homeless population of some 1,500 people, the 4th Annual Homeless Awareness Outreach event was held today. The event, Passport to Services, was held at the Tamuning Gym today and hosted by the Guam Housing and Urban Renewal Authority, the Guam Homeless Coalition and private sponsors.
The island's homeless were able to receive free health screenings, help with obtaining a Guam ID, employment assistance as well as receive haircuts and were able to make free long distance calls.
According to the numbers the island's homeless population has increased consistently over the years.
