Guam - Lawmakers moved all but one of the governor's appointees to the voting file. The nomination of Dr. Kia Rahmani could not be moved to the voting file because chairman of the Committee on Health, Senator Dennis Rodriguez, Jr., said he is waiting for more documents to be submitted in order to complete the committee report.

Dr. Rahmani was nominated by Governor Eddie Calvo to serve on the Guam Board of Medical Examiners. During his confirmation hearing only one person showed up to testify against his confirmation. Former GBME board chair and Guam Medical Society president Dr. Jerone Landstrom raised allegations that Dr. Rahmani should never have obtained a license to practice medicine on Guam and that the physician doesn't meet the ethical or truthful standards to be a board member.

According to Senator Rodriguez, he is waiting for Dr. Rahmani to respond to the several allegations raised by Dr. Landstrom. Dr. Landstrom also testified against the nomination of Dr. Reynald Lim, however his nomination was moved to the voting file with a recommendation to confirm.
