Guam - 51 new citizens of the United States were welcomed during a special Law Day naturalization ceremony at the District Court of Guam this morning. The new citizens hail from ten different countries including Switzerland, South Korea, Russia, France and Canada.

According to the District Court, today's ceremony commemorates Law Day, which is celebrated on May 1 to recognize the rule of law and to foster greater public understanding of the legal system. Aside from becoming new U.S. citizens, the individuals were also provided with resources to allow them to fully exercise their rights such as applying for a U.S. Passport, amending their Social Security Card, and joining the military.
