Guam - The Department of Public Works' Office of Highway Safety got a $31,799 grant from the U.S. Department of Administration. The occupant protection incentive grant encourages states and territories to adopt and implement effective programs to reduce highway deaths and injuries resulting from individuals riding improperly restrained in motor vehicles.

Funds will be distributed to the Guam Police Department and the Guam International Airport Authority to continue their high-visibility enforcement operations throughout the island's roadways. The funds will also be used to produce public service announcements to educate the public on the Guam seat belt law.
