Guam - A public hearing wrapped-up in Hagatna for a bill that would suspend the salaries of the governor, lieutenant governor and all 15 local senators in the event of a government shutdown caused by the failure to enact an annual operating budget for the Government of Guam. Bill 157 was authored by Senator Rory Respicio.

Governor Eddie Calvo told KUAM News today that should the bill cross his desk, he would sign it. Likewise, Speaker Judi Won Pat supports the measure but doesn't foresee a situation ever happening where a budget wouldn't be passed. 

No one signed up to testify on the bill.
