Guam - Superior Court Judge Michael Bordallo denied the Guam Economic Development Authority's motion for summary judgment in their civil suit against John Laing and Guam Motion Pictures Company. GEDA sued the movie director for failing to pay back an $800,000 loan guaranty for the production of the big screen flop "Max Havoc: Curse of the Dragon".

GEDA sought summary judgment seeking damages for breach of contract, fraud, and deceptive trade practices for Laing's placement of GEDA's seal on the case of the DVD movie.  The judge denied GEDA's motion finding there are still factual disputes about Laing and Guam Motion Pictures' actions.

Last month the California Court of Appeals affirmed a Los Angeles Superior Court's decision to dismiss Laing's lawsuit against GEDA.
