Guam - The Guam Medical Society is scheduled to meet this evening. Dr. John Taitano is the first guest speaker and is presenting the GMS's position on Bill 107, The Patient Protection through Information Act.

The measure would require the Guam Board of Medical Examiners to publicly disclose to individual citizens and via the Internet what is commonly referred to as a "physician's professional file." Currently if you want to know whether your doctor has ever been disciplined you must first put your request in writing and wait and see if the board will approve the release of the information.

Also scheduled to speak is U.S. Attorney for Guam and the CNMI Alicia Limtiaco. She will speak on the subject of human trafficking.
