Guam - M.U. Lujan Elementary School in Yona was broken into over the weekend. Principal Daisy Ramirez says the vandals broke the window louvers to gain access to the main office. She says staff that came to the campus on Saturday noticed the alarm system had been tripped, and the office was trashed.

Ramirez says this is the 18th time this school year that her school was broken into. This time vandals made off with the lunch cash box that only had meal tickets inside and several electronic devices that were confiscated from students. She said, "With all the break-ins that we have been having they just know how to get to the areas that they can get into to turn off the alarms so they can have access to our office and mainly it's the office now, several rooms but minor, it was mainly snacks and cash that they were looking for but we don't have."

Ramirez adds she is working with the superintendent and the public safety agencies to identify ways to enhance security at the campus. In the meantime, anyone with information regarding this break-in is urged to contact GPD.
