Guam - The Legislative Healthcare Committee is investigating concerns that were raised during last week's confirmation hearing for Guam Board of Medical Examiners nominees Dr. Kia Rahmani and Dr. Reynaldo Lim. Former GBME board chair and Guam Medical Society president Dr. Jerone Landstrom raised allegations that Rahmani never should have obtained a license to practice medicine on Guam and that the physician doesn't meet the ethical or truthful standards to be a board member.

Healthcare committee chair Senator Dennis Rodriguez, Jr. says the allegations will be fully investigated. "I assured him and I want to assure the public also that every point that he raised we'll look at," he stated. "Well of course check the facts of what he brought up and provide that to the other senators through the committee report."

Rodriguez has already conducted a follow up meeting with Dr. Landstrom and says he intends to meet with the nominees as well to get their responses to the allegations so that the committee report will be fair.  The healthcare committee chair is hoping to have the reports completed in time for lawmakers to review before they head back into session next month.
