Congressional members honor Japan
Members of Congress and senators including Guam delegate Madeleine Bordallo honored the victims in the Japan disasters during the National Conference of State Societies' Cherry Blossom Reception and Gala Dinner.
Guam - Members of Congress and senators including Guam delegate Madeleine Bordallo honored the victims in the Japan disasters during the National Conference of State Societies' Cherry Blossom Reception and Gala Dinner. During the event, Japanese ambassador to the United States Ichiro Fujisaki expressed the gratitude of the Japanese people for the generosity and support Americans have shown in this time of need.
The reception and gala featured cherry blossom princesses representing 37 states, territories, and countries. Congresswoman Bordallo escorted Christina Paige Ruff, who was selected by the Guam Society of America to represent Guam as a 2011 Cherry Blossom Princess.
Paige is the daughter of David Ruff, Jr. and Karla Alford and the great-granddaughter of Juan Cepeda, who was a master suruhanu on Guam for many decades.
