Guam - Two officers who were on patrol received minor injuries after being slammed by a car in Sinajana over the weekend. According to police spokesperson Officer A.J. Balajadia the driver of a 2000 Subaru Outback lost control of his car along Pale Kieren Hickey on Saturday morning and hit the cop car twice causing an estimated $15,000 worth of damage.
According to Balajadia, anytime a GPD vehicle is down, it causes a dent in operations. "We are short and that's a major accident which takes that particular vehicle out of our fleet, hopefully the revenues generated by making a claim to the insurance company will come back to repair the vehicle, I'm not sure whether or not that will be the case or the money will just go back to general fund, if that's the case the car will never be repaired," he said.
As for the driver, his Subaru needs about $10,000 worth of repairs. Fortunately he was not injured.
