Guam - The cost for a traffic accident report, a firearms ID, and a police clearance are among 30 fees that the Guam Police Department is proposing to increase. A public hearing is scheduled for next Wednesday at the Dededo Precinct Conference Room at 9am for the public to comment on the proposed fees.

Captain Mark Charfauros says the increases are a result of the government's short financial leash. "The fees are needed to recoup the cost of the department providing services that it normally does for example funeral escorts, and everything that requires our personnel to draw overtime to provide these services," he said.
