Guam - KUAM News learned Archbishop Anthony Apuron is in California receiving medical test on his heart. John Junior Calvo, editor of the Catholic newsletter "The Umatuna" says the leader of the island's Catholic faithful left Guam last Tuesday.

He says Apuron had undergone a stress test, also known as a treadmill test here on Guam and was referred to a doctor in Anaheim. While in the mainland the archbishop has received an angiogram to check the blood flow to his heart. The result of the tests have not yet been publically released.

Calvo could tell us Archbishop Apuron is in good sprits and is continuing his regular exercise routine and diet. Calvo says they do not know when the archbishop will return but says they asking the community to keep him in their thoughts as they wish him a safe return.
