Commercial vessel saves distressed mariners
by Nick Delgado
Guam - Three mariners were rescued after their boat capsized in the waters between Rota and Tinian today. Coast Guard Sector Guam reports that a passing commercial vessel known as the "Super Shuttle" en route to Guam from Saipan picked up the distressed mariners.
The three are originally from Rota and were expected to complete a voyage to Saipan. The Coast Guard urges mariners to make early contact with emergency officials and report all marine emergencies to the Coast Guard Sector Guam Center at 564-USCG (8724).
