Guam - Vice Speaker B.J. Cruz is urging Governor Eddie Calvo to seek funding to support the Guam State Historic Preservation Officer. Cruz wrote a letter suggesting Calvo request technical assistance funds to support the SHPO now that the Programmatic Agreement has been signed.

He states the Department of Defense is only willing to designate a liaison to serve as a contact to assist with coordination, communication, documentation preparation and review, adding that the DoD will not directly fund Guam or SHPO responsibilities. Cruz states its GovGuam's regulatory responsibility to protect our natural and cultural resources.
