Grant enhances seatbelt enforcement

The Department of Public Works office of highway safety was awarded $31,799 from the U.S. Department of Transportation through the Section 405 – Occupant Protection Incentive Grant.

Guam - The Department of Public Works office of highway safety was awarded $31,799 from the U.S. Department of Transportation through the Section 405 – Occupant Protection Incentive Grant. The grant encourages states and territories to adopt and implement effective programs to reduce highway deaths and injuries resulting from individuals riding improperly restrained or with no seatbelt.

The funds will go to the Guam Police Department and airport police to continue their high-visibility enforcement operations throughout the island roadways.
