Guam - The Guam Regional Transit Authority's board of directors will finalize some cost-cutting measures during a special board meeting tomorrow morning. Transit Interim Executive Manager Felix Dungca says they had to suspend demand response services as well as decrease the number of buses on their fleet from 15 to 12. He says they will be expanding the para-transit and fixed route services past the Micronesia Mall.
The Bottom line, Dungca says, is they came up with a method to avoid from shutting down operations. "We have never done an annual review of our transit services and this is something that we should have been doing years ago at least have every six months to review the system, look at our rider ship, our cost and then make the appropriate changes," he said.
The meeting will be held at 10am tomorrow at the GRTA conference room in Hagatna.
