Guma Mami wins gambling concession
Guam - The first bids for the Liberation Carnival wrapped up Saturday it was delayed for one day because of Friday's tsunami warning. And the big ticket item: casino gambling.
The winning bidder was Guma Mami, which placed the highest bid. According to Mayors Council of Guam Executive Director Angel Sablan, it's up to the non-profit organization to choose what sort of games they offer and just how long they will allow people to gamble. "Whether the casino will go later hours we put that provision in our packet, they can if they meet our conditions, which means that they have to have a contract with a private security agency that will make sure no minors enter the facility, they must ensure no minors work inside the facility and they must ensure if they sale alcohol its only to 21 and above," he said.
Sablan says the bids for the concessions including gambling won't be awarded until the governor signs the proclamation for liberation festivities to begin.
