Guam - A Superior Court grand jury handed down an indictment against 16-year-old Jerrett Taisapic Muna. The minor faces felony aggravated assault charges with a special allegation of possession and use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony, and rioting with a special allegation.
Muna is accused of assaulting Raymond Peredo during a disturbance in Yona last month. While trapped underneath Muna is accused of taking a 2-x-4 wood plank and striking Peredo in the back of the head and assaulting him while other individuals kicked and punched him while he was on the ground. The assault left Peredo on a ventilator with brain injuries, head trauma and broken ribs. He remains in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit at Naval Hospital in Agana Heights.
Peredo meanwhile remains behind bars on $500,000 cash bail awaiting further court proceedings.
