Guam - The Guam Coalition Against Sexual Assault and Family Violence held their regional summit today titled creating safe, healthy and violence free island communities. Representatives from organizations from throughout the region and other U.S. Territories participated.

Vice-Speaker B.J. Cruz also presented resolution commending WestCare Pacific Islands Furing National Women and Girls HIV-AIDS Awareness Day. "When I looked at the stats about how many women are being infected annually and the fact that so many are dying we've go to educate our young that not only can they say no, but they should say no," he told KUAM News.

During the event Cruz and Senator Rory Respicio made brief remarks on the signing of Bills 33 and 34. The measure would allow adults who were sexually abused when they were children to file a civil action against their perpetrators two years from now.
