As the island celebrates Mes Chamorro this month, lawmakers will receive public testimony on a few bills dealing with Chamorro language and culture in the island's public schools.
Guam - As the island celebrates Mes Chamorro this month, lawmakers will receive public testimony on a few bills dealing with Chamorro language and culture in the island's public schools. This Friday, testimony will be heard on Bill 87 relative to requiring sufficient classrooms for Chamorro language and culture courses; Bill 98 relative to awarding the Yamashita Teacher Corps scholarships to Chamorro language and culture students at University of Guam and Bill 95 relative to expanding the language and culture curriculum at the Department of Education.
The hearings get underway on Friday beginning at 5pm in Hagatna.
