USS Oklahoma City pulls into port
Commanding Officer Aaron Thieme thanked staff from Guam for making the move a smooth transition.
Guam - The USS Oklahoma City has pulled into port, replacing the USS City of Corpus Christi. Commanding Officer Aaron Thieme thanked staff from Guam for making the move a smooth transition.
He announced, "The local staff in the community have been involved well over a year with this move and without their support we would have been alone and our families left without the support that they would need."
The USS Oklahoma City has a crew of 130 personnel. The island welcomes 22 new families with six more on the way. Forward deployed submarines like the Oklahoma City are readily capable of meeting global operational requirements.
