Guam - You may want to cancel those plans to head to the beach this weekend, as the National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Advisory that will remain in effect until next Tuesday. The surf will build to 9-12' along north-facing reefs and 8-11' along east-facing reefs on Guam and Rota during the day.
The NWS adds it's possible the surf will peak at 14-16' on north facing reefs starting tomorrow through Saturday night and may require a Surf Warning. Surf will fall to 10-12' on Sunday. Surf is expected to remain hazardous for at least the first half of next week.
You are warned not venture near exposed beaches and reefs, especially those along north- and east-facing reefs because rip currents are life threatening.
