Guam - Retired administrator and former Carbullido Elementary School principal Bernie Duenas will sit as the new principal of Guam's first charter school set to open in August. According to on-island coordinator for the National Institute for Direct Instruction Donna Dwiggins, Duenas has the experience and knowledge needed to run a school such as this.

Dwiggins says Duenas has experience in working with the direct instruction program.

In the meantime, while the charter school is set to open this fall there's still no specific date, and the location of the school has yet to be determined.
