Guam - Several education bills will go up for a public hearing this Thursday. Bill 48 would provide temporary expedited procurement procedures to assist with the disbursement of stimulus funds; Bill 64 would authorize the Department of Education to enter into a public-private partnership through a performance management contract for the management, operation and maintenance of its structural and grounds facilities.

Additionally, Bill 8 would lift the hiring freeze of maintenance and custodial personnel at DOE and authorize the board to permit in-house services. The hearings will take place on Thursday beginning at 1:30pm at the Legislature's Public Hearing Room in Hagatna.
